Hi all!
This fellow arrived here between limnopiloses/ The size, behavior, color is same, but its carapax have tooth on the fron of upper side

Hi there

It's surely another member of the family Hymenosomatidae but there is no Hymenosomatid known with such teeth which lives in freshwater. And there is only one other freshwater species in L. naiyanteri's origin Thailand: Elamenopsis exigua (and it is not knwon if they survive in complete freshwater) but that has no teeth on the anterolateral margin. Maybe it's a new species.

Can You make other pictures? Carapace from above, scissors and face would be of special interest.

That is Neorhynchoplax dentata, but this crab species is a marine one. I would doubt that it could survive in freshwater – but obviously it does? Or it is a new species which is a relative from N. dentata but lives in freshwater.

The known freshwater Hymenosomatidae are Elamenopsis kempi (Iraq, introduced to Panama), Elamenopsis introverta (China), Elamenopsis inermis (Palau Islands), Amarinus pilosus (New Caledonia), Amarinus lacustris (Australia, New Zealand), Amarinus angelicus (Papua New Guinea), Amarinus wolterecki (Philippines), Limnopilos naiyanetri (Thailand) and Cancrocaeca xenomorpha (Sulawesi).

My crab arrived from Aquarium Glaser. There is 3 examplares of this species in group of 30 Limnos, so this crabs must tolerate or live in freshwater. I think that Glaser brothers have Limnopiloses an mass, so you can find much more examplares between limnos, possible males and females together (here, in Moscow, we have only males). It'll be great if this species can breed in freshwater!

Oh, You're right. "The single specimen of N. dentata was obtained from a freshwater stream which was under tidal influence. The waters were tea-coloured, with a pH of 5.6." did they wright either, how could I not read that?!

Very interesting either: "The eggs in Neorhynchoplax, Elamenopsis and Crustaenia are not on the pleopods as in other crabs but contained in a special internal brood cavity. Additions to the description of the female abdominal structure and attempts to resolve some issues raised by Lucas (1980) are discussed under A. mangalis."
