Hi,

What ways are there to distinguish between G. dennerle and G. bicolour? I will soon be getting some vampire crabs of the purple colour but a definite ID could be helpful.

I have read the 'raffles bulletin of zoology' recent description of G. hagen and G. dennerle, including the differences between G. dennerle and G. bicolour but I don't understand it.

Thanks Smile

(This one has no claws. I an going to attempt to feed it mushed up food, allowing it to eat with its mandibles)

I don't think they are either of the aforementioned species. They have black eyes and more subtle colours. Any ideas?
Hi!

The crab at the first picture seems to be G. dennerle "vampir".

Those with the dark eyes look like another species: G. tricolor.
G. bicolor should have yellow eyes.

Maybe the boardowners can tell you more.

Hello! Smile

Hmm, this is likely. The shops supplier had G. dennerle and the other species, so I guess they could have sent a G. dennerle with the others. What should I do with this one, will it be safe with the other species?

Are these a described species, or is this just a name given? I can't find much about them online.

Thank for the help!
