Hi lovecrabs,
Potamon and Parathelphusa are different genera. Inside a genus reside the different species. So if two species are different genera they are not so closely related. Indeed Potamon and Parathelphusa are even in different families of freshwater crabs.
So they are sureley not the same but I don't know what Potamon sp. "panthera" shall be anyway. Parathelphusa pantherina however is a valid species: http://www.panzerwelten.de/v/Parathelphu...antherina/ – Potamidae look quite different: http://www.panzerwelten.de/v/Potamon/

lovecrabs, this is Parathelphusa pantherina. They indeed don't leave the water and roots or stones where they can sit just above the water level suffice. They do indeed get very aggressive when the grow adult and after the adult moult You cannot keep several specimen together.
