Giant Water Bugs? - Kevin - Tuesday, 20. May 2008

Does anyone on here keep these? if so, any information on successfully keeping and breeding them would be great, also pictures of set-ups.

I should be receiving some from Germany soon (aquatic Insects, as well as Crustacean's seem far more easier to find for sale in Germany than the UK)

I have a 2ft tank ready for them, with a fairly large internal power filter, also an airstone and heater (I guess around 24c would be fine for them?) any recommended plants or food items also, I would think Crickets, would they take them from the surface of the water? and is it completly safe to house two together (ive asked for a pair) without risk of fighting or cannibalism?

Hi,

I meant ones in the family Belostomatidae, I would think their care would be similar to aquatic beetles though?
